Outdoor Entertaining Inspiration

There is so much to love about this time of year; the flowers, the sunny days, and our personal favourite, the warm nights.

In our beautiful country there is nothing better than dining and entertaining outside in the warmer months.

Consequently, this is the time of year that many of us will be cleaning up our yards, and maybe wondering how we could improve them. Whether you want to use your outdoor area to lounge around in a hammock or cook up a storm on the barbecue; we have found some inspiring ideas to enhance your outdoor space…

Lighting…

Outdoor feature lighting can make a huge statement in your yard. You could have individual spot lights shining on your plants, solar lanterns lighting your pathways, or maybe some fairy lights around the structure of your home. Visit your local lighting store and get creative.

Water Feature…

If you would like an eye-catching piece in your back yard, a water feature is the answer. The sound of trickling water is blissful, and it will add a touch of luxury to any garden. There are so many different designs that there is sure to be one to suit you. If you are on a budget or just feeling creative, check out the many DIY water features online.

Fencing…

Often people overlook the significance of fencing in their garden. Your fence is an essential factor in enhancing the appearance of your outdoor space. It can be the element that ties the whole look of your yard together. There are a few different styles to consider, but our personal favourites are rendered or timber fences. Of course each type of fence has its pros & cons, so you will need to find which option suits your area the best.

Fire pit…

A great addition to any Australian back yard is a fire pit. We aren’t talking about an ugly pile of debris in the middle of your lawn, either. We are talking about a charismatic stone or brick structure surrounded by comfortable chairs where you can sit back with family & friends and enjoy the beautiful life outdoors. Of course you can buy a fire pit from a store, or you can make one yourself – there are so many terrific ideas & instructions online.

Cooking…

One of the most unique things about Australian people is our love for cooking outdoors. A barbecue can provide a laid-back atmosphere with the ability to cook a huge variety of foods. There are so many different options for your outdoor kitchen, and it really comes down to choosing what suits your lifestyle best. Maybe just a barbeque will suffice, or you might like to add some bench space or a pizza oven.
